CS1 Actuarial Statistics

Actuarial Statistics Core Principles

 Actuarial Statistics offers an in-depth understanding of the mathematical and statistical techniques that are essential for actuarial work.

Learning

We have divided the course materials for a total of 300 hours of learning. You will receive 150 hours of recorded online classes and lectures and will require another 150 hours to complete assignments, solve subject-wise questions, prepare, and sit for mock tests, etc. You will also learn R programming modules from scratch and solve assignments regarding the same.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to understand and describe the essential features of statistical distributions. You will also learn to summarise data using the appropriate statistical analysis or descriptive statistics, as well as graphical presentation.

You will also learn to describe and implement the principles of statistical inference, as well as describe, apply, and interpret the results of linear regression models and generalised linear models. CS1 also teaches you how to explain the fundamental concepts of Bayesian statistics and use them to determine the estimators.

Assessment

An assessment follows the course, consisting of a computer-based data analysis and statistical modelling assignment (for a period of one hour forty-five minutes), and an online, typed examination (of three hours fifteen minutes).Anchor
